National Cricket Academy is located in  Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru. NCA was idea of former BCCI President Raj Singh Dungarpur. National Cricket Academy was established in 2000 for training young cricketers who have potential to represent India. Former Australian wicket-keeper Rodney Marsh was called upon to design structure and provide guidance to the Academy through its initials years of growth. In 2014, BCCI tied up with cricket Australia and England Cricket Board to get experts on board to improve quality of training.

The facilities provided by the Academy are supported by the Karnataka State Cricket Association ground staff. NCA has excellent grounds and wickets. Apart from the Chinnaswamy Stadium, NCA has a separate ground with 18 turf , 3 cement practice wickets, 6 center wickets and 3 indoor synthetic wickets. The gymnasium of  Academy have equipments which are tailor made for the workouts of cricketers.

NCA awards scholarship to three promising players to visit Centre of Excellence in Brisbane and scholarship is named after Allan Border & Sunil Gavaskar. Gautam gambhir, Mohammad kaif , Parthiv patel, L. Balaji, Virat Kohli, K.L. Rahul, R.P. Singh, C. Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan are some of bigger names which got benefited from this scholarship.
