HPCA stadium is located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh in backdrop of Himalayas. This stadium is owned by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium.

HPCA Stadium Dharamshala is home ground for Kings XI Punjab and Himachal state Team. It was established in 2003 and has a capacity of 23000. 

This stadium hosted first ODI on 27 January 2013 against England and first Test from 25–29 March 2017 against Australia.

Below are some interesting facts about this stadium:

1. Highest Cricket Ground Above Sea Level:

This stadium is at an altitude of 1,457 m above the sea level which makes this ground highest ground above Sea Level. It has the snow capped Himalayan range in the background.

2.Grass Used in Out Field:

It is first stadium in India to have used Ryegrass around the outfield. Due to its geographical location Dharamsala can get extremely cold, ryegrass is used in the outfield of the stadium to prevent grass from dying in temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. 

3.Dalai Lama Connection:

14th Dalai Lama who is currently the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people visited stadium in 2011 during an IPL match. He also  offered some advice to Australia cricket team led by Steven Smith in 2018 when 1st ever Test Match happened on this stadium.
